About SOUP
SOUP is a non-registered, non-profit organization that exists to facilitate and promote the appreciation of the Ukulele through weekly jam sessions and occasional workshops and special events. Membership in the group is free. At the jam sessions we try to make it a comfortable, relaxed and supportive atmosphere where we all sing and strum songs new and old. A $5 fee is charged to each jam session participant each week to offset facility rental costs.
A volunteer Steering Committee manages all aspects of SOUP, arranging for rental facilities, and planning weekly jam sessions and special events. The other volunteer committee that contributes to the behind-the-scenes organization of all things SOUP is the Song Book and Music Selection Committee. It might seem like things just happen on their own - but the fun exists because many people volunteer.
In addition to this website, SOUP has a FaceBook page created for the ukulele enthusiasts. We recognize that some people use FaceBook while others prefer to visit a website, and that is why we offer a selection of communication tools.
