All levels of experience welcome: just FUN and jamming together.
What if I'm not that good yet but I would like to take a lesson first? If you already know a few chords, and can strum through a few songs, you won't need a lesson--just come to the main jam!
Info Begineer Sessions Cost $5 per person We don't offer lessons but some of our experienced members sometimes provide what we call an intro session for the new ukulele player. At the info sessions you will learn how to strum a ukulele and some basic chords.
I'm kind of rusty, but I think I'd like to come to a jam session - can I? Yes of course. We would be pleased to have you join us - all levels welcome. Please bring your ukulele . If you don't have a copy of the SOUP Songbook for your first night, someone will gladly share. We sell the songbook for $10.
How do the Jam Session and Intro Sessions Work? More experienced players go straight to the main room for the jam session. If you are doing an intro session, you do that first and then join the main jam for the second hour. Participation in an intro session is not a requirement-- SOUP is a friendly group, and you can walk in, sit down and start strumming, if you prefer. You will be welcome no matter what your level of experience. There is no additional charge for an intro session, but you will be asked to pay the regular jam session fee of five dollars each week.
Does it cost to join as a member of SOUP? No, there is no cost to join. It does cost to attend a jam session and that's because we are non-profit and have to pay to rent the facility where we jam. Register as a member on this website to receive email updates for special events and changes to the Songbook.
When do I pay the five dollar jam session fee? A collection is taken at each evening jam session as you enter the main room. You pay only for the sessions which you attend.
