Everything You NEED to Know About Being Part of the SOUP corner at the 2016 London Home County Folk Festival
This is SOUP's sixth year participating in the Home County Art and Music Festival events! Things are different this year, so please read this carefully if you hope to participate.
This year, the SOUP tent will be for (non-amplified) solo demonstration and teaching only. No jams will happen in the tent. Let us know if you would like to offer your time to man the tent either as a solo performer, to answer questions about SOUP, or to help teach people who are new to the ukulele. The location of the tent is the same southwest corner of Victoria Park (Dufferin and Clarence) that we have been in for a few years. We'd love to give you some time to show off what you can do with your ukulele, but please schedule yourself in ahead of time.
The SOUP tent will operate from 12:00 - 5:00 on Saturday, July 16th and Sunday, July 17th.
On Stage Saturday:
We will be performing on the South Stage on Saturday, July 16th at 1:30 pm. This stage is along Dufferin Ave. A limited number of people (roughly 12) will be on the physical stage (sign up or email us if you are interested), and the rest of us will be in the audience, strumming from there. The public will be invited to bring their ukuleles and sing and strum along as well. Songbooks will be provided for them. The setlist is below.
On Stage Sunday:
We will perform on the Community Stage (near Centennial Hall) on Saturday July 17th around 4 pm. It will be the same setlist, and the same situation with only a limited number on stage and the rest in the audience.
It will be possible to use the SOUP tent to store things in during the performances, as someone will be there to man the tent when we perform.
